Children love crepes or pancakes. The delicious pancakes are often eaten with Nutella, jam or other sweet spreads. However, you can also enjoy pancakes, or in this case crêpes, with fruit and a blueberry compote.
This turns it into a fruity thing that tastes super delicious. Not too sweet, just my taste.
In addition, preparation is relatively easy and quick.
The compote practically cooks itself if you stir it from time to time while you are standing at the stove and baking the crêpes anyway.
Leftover compote can be refrigerated and tastes like jam when it’s cold. Super tasty with a nice bread or bun and butter.
What ingredients do I need for crêpes batter?
The crepes batter is similar to a pancake batter. You need the following ingredients for the dough:
- 500ml milk
- 5 eggs
- 300 g spelled flour
- A pinch of salt
- 50 g soft melted butter
With these simple ingredients, you can quickly and easily make a crêpes batter with the help of a mixer.
Which fruits go well with crepes?
For the filling you can choose different fruits that you like and taste good. In addition to the raspberries, blueberries and strawberries used here, you can also use other fruits or types of fruit.
Which flour do I use for a crêpes batter?
I use light spelled flour (type 630) in my recipe. Spelled flour is very similar to wheat flour. However, spelled is considered to be the healthier grain. The reason for this is that it contains more essential proteins, more minerals and vitamins.
